A bit about A Sense of Place Organizing+Styling+Redesign
WELCOME to A Sense of Place. A Sense of Place was created in 2018, in Loveland, CO. My mission is to help clients create well organized, thoughtfully styled spaces using sustainable products and practices. I work hand in hand with clients to style their homes to sell quickly and for top dollar, prepare for a smooth & organized transition from moving out or in, to preparing for company, or putting your home back together after a renovation. Organization & Styling play an essential role in the success of selling, as well as in the comfort of everyday living in our homes.
A bit about me...
I have loved design, organizing, and creating beautiful things from a very young age. As a child, I redesigned my doll house & reupholstered the furniture. I grew up watching This Old House and learned how to put back together a house that sorely needed restoration. I have long been inspired by wonderful designers like Genevieve Gorder, Nate Berkus, Leanne Ford, and the classic styling of the late Nora Ephron. In high school, I was so curious to see the interior of a home for sale, that I scheduled a showing and drug my entire family there. To this day, my family and I ooh and ahh about the gorgeous details of that colonial style home.
Beautiful architecture and design continued to be an intrigue throughout my life. I've pored over thousands of design books & magazines as part of my life long education. I've studied the effects that color, sound, and lighting have on young children and have taken innumerable courses on classroom layout as well as learned the importance of appropriate furniture scale & design. As an educator of 16 years, I spent countless hours laying out classrooms to best suit young learners and instilled the value of organization within each and every student.
Over the course of my life, I have moved over 30 times and with each new home came the opportunity for fresh paint, updated flooring, and often times, a DIY bathroom renovation, all of which were done on varying budgets. Since the days of renting, I've purchased and renovated homes that could be classified as having "good bones" but needed so much, aesthetically speaking, to transform them into well organized, restful retreats. Each renovation offers new insight and opportunities to leave behind my signature light, airy, and comfortable design & style. Expert advice and guidance saves both time and money when preparing to sell your home, organize, or choose materials & furniture for a redesign. I currently hold certification through the Staging Studio as a Staging Design Professional as well as with the American Society of Professional Organizers. My training is accredited through RESA (Real Estate Staging Association) as well as IASHP (International Association of Home Staging Professionals).
Having "A Sense of Place" begins at home. I share my home with my sweet border collie rescue. With the support and collaboration of skilled tradesmen, I have transformed my home from years of wear and tear, into fresh, cozy, and inviting rooms that provide comfort & respite. My well organized home is restorative and allows me to share my talents in my community, places of work, host family & friends, and live my best life. That is my goal for each and every one of my clients as well.
